The great attic cleanup

Hubby and I began the great attic cleanup on Saturday. We took down everything  from one side of the attic. My arms, shoulders and neck will never be the same. We have lived in this tiny little house for twenty years and I think we had boxes up there from when we moved.

I had every card from bridal showers, wedding, baby showers, college textbooks and twenty years of bank statements. Hubby had notes from his master's courses and course calendars. We found a sander and a drill. One incredibly ugly lamp that works (you will see the before and after later), lots of frames (who knew?), every disney video ever made (should I keeps these or sell them?), computers, empty boxes (????), and lots of crapola.

First we sorted into Beth's stack, hubby's stack, trash, donate, sell, and what is this (?). One truckload went to the dump, four huge boxes for goodwill, one plastic bin  household records to attic (taxes, bank statements, ins.), one memory box to office closet for scrapbooking, two boxes of papers to shred and one box of hubby's office records to shred. We still have a couple more boxes to go through but so far so good!

Hopefully the second part of the attic will be easier. The stuff on that side was put up there more recently, I hope!
