My thrity purchases

I scored big time at Goodwill. I spent $12.00. Here is the breakdown. The big mirror $2.00, trashcan $.75, small candleholder $.75, large candleholder $1.75, Lamp $3.00, med. picture $2.50, sm. picture $1.50, large picture $1.00. You can"t see it really well. I'm new at all of this.

I have plans for everything. Pictures to come. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this goes through.

The great attic cleanup

Hubby and I began the great attic cleanup on Saturday. We took down everything  from one side of the attic. My arms, shoulders and neck will never be the same. We have lived in this tiny little house for twenty years and I think we had boxes up there from when we moved.

I had every card from bridal showers, wedding, baby showers, college textbooks and twenty years of bank statements. Hubby had notes from his master's courses and course calendars. We found a sander and a drill. One incredibly ugly lamp that works (you will see the before and after later), lots of frames (who knew?), every disney video ever made (should I keeps these or sell them?), computers, empty boxes (????), and lots of crapola.

First we sorted into Beth's stack, hubby's stack, trash, donate, sell, and what is this (?). One truckload went to the dump, four huge boxes for goodwill, one plastic bin  household records to attic (taxes, bank statements, ins.), one memory box to office closet for scrapbooking, two boxes of papers to shred and one box of hubby's office records to shred. We still have a couple more boxes to go through but so far so good!

Hopefully the second part of the attic will be easier. The stuff on that side was put up there more recently, I hope!

So far so good

I added my picture and moved it around a bit and so far it is still there. The more I learn about this blogging process the more I want to go back to stalking others. But I need to do this. 2010 is the year I want to attack some major home improvement projects and complete them! I want to learn how to take pictures that are clear and  upload them to the computer all by myself. I want to know how to link to someone's DIY party. I don't know if I want to use this posting feature or live writer. Where is the spell check anyway? I want a pretty blog.

First Post

My first post.  I know how to write but this formatting and trying to make my page look pretty is way out of my comfort zone! I have been following (stalking) other bloggers and I really respect their work, their ideas and their completed projects. This blog is two fold for me. I want to learn new things like how to put my pictures from my camera on my computer and overcome old things like getting a project 80% completed and stopping. So here goes nothing!
